It is a pleasure to welcome you to the Secondary School section of our website. In secondary we follow Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 of the National Curriculum of England, culminating in Cambridge International Examinations at IGCSE and Advanced Level. We aspire to high academic standards and take great pride in the exam results we have achieved in recent years, but the experience we seek to offer students goes far beyond exam results. At Rainbow we aim to create a stimulating learning environment where students can ask questions, investigate for themselves and take a leading role in their own learning, acquiring the skills to become independent learners. Rainbow has an all-inclusive philosophy and a strongly multicultural ethos; we welcome students from a wide range of backgrounds, including those who are beginning to learn English and students who have difficulties with aspects of their learning.
Beyond the classroom, through our vast range of extra-curricular activities we strive to develop the individual potential of each student and provide them with a wealth of opportunities to widen their individual interests and talents. Integral to our programme is a system of pastoral care to ensure that each individual is able to receive help and support when needed.
Many visitors to the school comment on the polite and friendly welcome they receive from the students and this is in keeping with the caring social values and good discipline that we strive to promote. If you are interested in learning more about Rainbow, you are most welcome to pay us a visit and see the school for yourself. The best time to come is during a normal working day when you can tour the site, accompanied by student guides.
