I am very pleased that you have chosen Rainbow International School Uganda (RISU) for your child. RISU Primary is a warm, vibrant and welcoming place where learning is at the heart of everything we do and in pursuit of the School’s Vision.
We are committed to providing a safe, secure and happy environment where our students, from around fifty nations, learn together in an atmosphere of mutual regard, respect and international mindedness. Our Golden Rule says it all,
“We treat others the way we would like to be treated.”
Our curriculum is derived from the English National Curriculum, International Primary Curriculum (IPC), Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS), current research and the best practices from around the world, in order to provide our students with the best possible holistic education.
We cater for a wide range of student needs including those with English as an Additional Language (EAL), students with Specific Learning Difficulties and those who are ‘able, gifted and talented’. Furthermore, we encourage all of our students to become bold, positive and proud whilst hoping that they take advantage of the variety of opportunities that the Primary Section provides.
We also believe that establishing positive and effective home-school partnerships is vitally important. As such, we actively encourage and expect all our parents to be partners in their child’s education and also in the wider life of the school.
A child’s time in the Primary Section is very special, whether they are taking their first steps away from home or preparing to move onto their next phase of education in our Secondary Section or in other schools around the world. We are proud of our commitment to making their experience during their time with us intrinsically rewarding and positive.
We trust that, as you browse through the website, you’ll find answers to any questions you may have. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you would like further information.
I hope to see you soon.
Mr. Tim Belfield, Head of Primary
