BTEC courses are also offered in the sixth form as an alternative pathway to further education. BTECs are vocational and require students to use extensive research and hands on experiences to complete rigid coursework assignments in class. Links are established with the relevant industry where emphasis on practical work experience is a must.
There are no examinations in BTEC, however the coursework assignments are vast and thorough and require dedication and effort. BTEC courses are popular, and Universities accept them as entry the same as A Levels. The research background needed and developed on the courses are excellent preparation for University.
