Topics taught in Year 10
You will be working toward Component 2: Coursework
Choosing your Theme: You will have chosen a theme from the list given to you at the beginning of term. You must show that you have thought about this theme, perhaps using ‘mind maps, diagrams or lists’ to help you. Making studies from the real thing (Primary sources): This component is all about you making many studies from the real objects NOT photographs even if you took them yourself, not the internet even if the image is wonderful! You MUST work directly from the real thing here in Kampala (for example, buildings, still life, landscape or figure work) these can be drawings or paintings. These will help you decide the format of your final piece. Experiments with different materials: You will also make many experiments trying out different materials these trials will help you decide what your final exam piece will be made of. Written work & Research: As you make your journey toward the final piece you MUST document what you are doing and thinking. Your documentation will be in the form of short written pieces, either done as word documents or hand written. |
